JEFF PRESTON
Some people see the world in film. For more than 13 years, Jeff Preston has created a following among directors and producers as the man to call for deeply engaging brand stories.
With a passion for documentary and independent filmmaking, Preston spent the past decade developing his talents as a Director of Photography and Editor. During this time, he shot and edited numerous projects for clients such as PBS, Campbell Soup Company, Spike TV, American Greetings and Equator HD, among others.
His work includes pieces featuring celebrities such as Jack Black, Bill Cosby, Dan Aykroyd, David Arquette, John Lithgow, fashion luminaries Nicole Miller and celebrity stylists James Aguiar and Mark-Alan Harmon.
Preston also has deep experience in the college category, shooting profile pieces supporting large capital campaigns for institutions such as the University of Florida, a $1.5 billion campaign, as well as educational leaders Penn State, Saint Joseph’s University and Michigan Tech.
A creative editor, Preston delivered the nine part documentary series, Journeys of the Heart: Peru, for Equator HD. Hour long episodes followed a group of American Volunteers as they helped at an orphanage for the deaf in Peru. Shock of cultural difference, living conditions, and ultimately their connection to the children they met was the centerpiece of the story.
Founding partner, director of photography and editor for Vault Filmworks, Preston shapes the view of the company’s product. A graduate of Penn State’s respected film program, Preston brings a narrative, documentary-style approach to Vault’s work that focuses on form and voice, whether the story is high fashion, rural American life, or the natural beauty of our nations parks.
Preston lives near Philadelphia with his gorgeous wife and two iPad-obsessed kids.
